Our prof was talking in an exasperated tone about how difficult it is to get some kids to read. The term she used was "reading resistant children". This made me think of a kid being so immune to books that they repell away from him, like a stain resisant couch doesn't absorb the liquid but keeps it at the surface.

The thing covering the kid in the third panel is supposed to be a force field. Or something.
